:: beautiful buildings ~ old bank of australasia ::

This set of three attached buildings are quite interesting....
1) One part says, "The National Bank of Australasia" on it. How 1800's is that??
2) The another part says, "Bank of New South Wales." But this is Victoria!

As most of you would know, two-thirds of Australia was New South Wales, all the way up until 1851 when Victoria was finally etched out on the map (see the evolution of our states here).

Funnily enough, this building was built in 1862, so the state of Victoria did just exist, but only by 11 days.

Nowadays, these kindly house solicitors and MPs.
