:: little disaster ::

I thought you might enjoy seeing a rather unique kitchen tragedy, [this time] not my fault.

My peach cobbler had been in the oven not 10mins when I heard mass sizzling. Surely it couldn't have bubbled up and spilled over already?!

I threw open the oven door, burnt my eyeballs with steam, screamed for Jason to take the battery out of the smoke alarm before we became the neighbourhood attraction, and when my eyes finally de-blurred, I was met with this:

Pretty awesome hey.

  3. Waaaggh you poor thing! Stupid dish.,..dunno if yours was a cheap one, but mine are & they're all cracking, although luckily none whilst cooking in the oven. I'm ready to trade them for some cast iron beauties! When the bank lets me ;-) best of luck cleaning the oven....sure don't envy you!

    1. Oh yours have cracked too? I've never seen anything like this before; none of mum's ever have! I've had 2 do it now... couldn't really say if they were cheap or not (wedding presents :)) but I guess they must be!

      thankfully the oven wasn't too bad to clean. It hadn't set/cooked hard yet!

  4. I've had that happen, but it was when I put the lasagne in the oven, so the door was still open and I heard it crack. It was one of my favorite dishes too :-(

  5. Oh man, that is terrible ... I wouldn't even care about the dish as so much as I would about the disastrous mess to clean form the oven - let it be told I despise oven cleaning lol
