:: humpday #9 - pure puppy love ::

What a Wednesday! All sorts of things made this one just peachy.

1} It's ANZAC Day!

I was sure hanging out for this public holiday! It was an absolutely freezing, drenched day in Victoria, so I really admire anyone who woke at 4am for a dawn service! Anyone?
Even though I was snuggled up in my bed at that time, I am still ever so grateful that all those young men gave up their jobs, families and lives to keep Australia a free country. It was a shocking day when such numbers were mown down that day at Gallipoli, but they gave all they had, and I'm in awe of them.

2} Lunch with a special friend in the city!

Melbourne was beyond wet, but we were introduced by the lovely Fiona to a little French cafe (complete with bearded French chef who personally served his food) called Le Flanure, which I would completely model my house off in a heartbeat.

3} Collecting our little Bastian

This pup has been on order since before he was born, and was named 14 years ago, by Jason who has had a pretty big obsession with Basset Hounds since aged 12. He's absolutely adorable! The coming days will prove to be interesting though.
At the moment, I would take a human baby ANY day, as he urinated on the floorboards 3 times within the first 2 hours of being home, and is always dragging his exaggerated ears in the puddle afterwards. Plus his ears also get in the way of his water and dog food. He wants constant cuddles and it looks like he's going to be a fussy little eater who won't touch dry food. I'm really looking forward to seeing how we go with sleeping tonight.

But how can you resist that silky loose skin? He is SO sweet natured, just snuggles and snuggles. And his fur is crazy clean and sweet. Definitely one of the nicest I've seen.

 [below] He sat perched on his behind like this most of the way home. Weirdly hilarious.

 [above] Oh not AGAIN!!!!!

[below] He loves standing in the warm air coming out of the heating duct.

All in all, we are thrilled to be new 'parents' and hope our baby settles in soon. We will have to keep him inside until we move into our new property in 2 weeks because of the cold weather and lack of grass where we are here. I'm sorry for the little fella, but I think the laundry will be his only roaming space because my bin is already full of damp newspaper.
Oh the joys of parenthood.
